Money Moves
The stage is set for one of NIL and amateur golf’s biggest events.
The 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur field was announced Wednesday with Lottie Woad, World Amateur No. 1 and Golf NIL’s top female college athlete, headlining the tournament as reigning champion. Anna Davis, the 2022 ANWA winner and Golf NIL Women’s No. 3, is back with Woad for her fourth consecutive appearance.
All three rounds will broadcast live on TV, marking an incredible opportunity for the players' exposure. Saturday’s final round at Augusta National, which will air on NBC, is expected to draw in roughly one million viewers.
ANWA rules allow players to wear sponsor-branded apparel during competition, creating additional visibility for NIL partners. Interestingly, in the two most recent years of the post-NIL era, ANWA winners have accepted their trophies in Augusta National-logoed apparel.
Golf NIL High School Girls No. 14 Sofia Cherif Essakali is teeing it up this week at the LET's Lalla Meryem Cup. The 15-year-old Moroccan is capturing attention as the youngest athlete in the 108-player field.
Luke Clanton, World No. 1 and Golf NIL Men's No. 2, is back on the pro stage at the Phoenix Open along with Arizona State senior Jose Luis Ballester Barrio. Both on sponsor exemptions, the Florida State junior is just one point from securing his PGA TOUR card through Accelerated, while Ballester, World No. 4 and Golf NIL Men’s No. 10, is in a tight race to do the same by claiming the top spot in the PGA TOUR U Rankings.
